Hazrat Nizamuddin

Nizamuddin Auliya was one of the most respected Sufi saints of the Chishti order in India. He dedicated his life to spreading messages of love, compassion, humility, and service to humanity, regardless of religion or social status.

Arrival in Delhi
During the 13th century, Nizamuddin Auliya settled in Delhi and established a khanqah that became a center for spiritual learning and community service. His teachings attracted followers from different backgrounds and helped strengthen the influence of the Chishti Sufi tradition.

Establishment of the Dargah
After the saint’s death in 1325, a shrine was built over his burial site. Over the centuries, various rulers, nobles, and devotees contributed to the expansion and beautification of the complex.

Association with Amir Khusrau
The famous poet, scholar, and musician Amir Khusrau was one of Nizamuddin Auliya’s most devoted disciples. His tomb is located within the dargah complex and remains an important attraction for visitors.
