Bala Quila

Perched 300 meters above Alwar city on a steep Aravalli hill, Bala Quila is a magnificent 10th-century fort stretching over 5 kilometers with six imposing gates including Jai Pol and Suraj Pol. The fort houses several palaces, temples, and water reservoirs, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Alwar city, surrounding lakes, and the rugged Aravalli range. 

Though partially in ruins, the fort remains a favorite among trekkers and history enthusiasts for its raw Rajput grandeur and stunning sunset vistas.

City Palace

An elegant blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture featuring marble balconies, mirror work, royal courtyards, and a museum preserving Alwar’s regal heritage.

Company Bagh

The chhatri features beautifully carved arches, intricate floral patterns, and a raised platform with a serene garden surrounding it, making it one of Alwar’s most photographed monuments.

Just off the circus, Kalakand Street is famous for its legendary Alwar ka mawa (a rich, milk-based sweet) that attracts food lovers from across Rajasthan and beyond. 

Visitors can also sample spicy kachoris, samosas, and traditional Rajasthani thalis in the numerous no-frills eateries lining this vibrant food hub.

Sariska Tiger Reserve

Located 37 km from Alwar, Sariska Tiger Reserve spans 866 square kilometers of dry deciduous forests, rocky Aravalli hills, and grasslands, serving as a vital Bengal tiger conservation area under Project Tiger. Visitors can enjoy thrilling jeep safaris to spot tigers, leopards, hyenas, sambar deer, and over 200 bird species, along with ancient sites like the Pandupol Temple inside the reserve.

The best time to visit is between October and June, with morning and afternoon safaris offering the best chances of wildlife sightings.

Siliserh Lake & Palace
