Majuli’s Satras are living repositories of Assam’s Neo-Vaishnavite heritage, preserving religious traditions, art, literature, and historical artifacts. Their development and survival were significantly shaped by Ahom royal patronage through land grants, labour support, royal gifts, and ceremonial objects. Bengenaati Satra, a significant 17th-century institution, houses a rich collection of such relics. Its 2013 museum connects historical preservation with continuing religious and community practices.
